Great group of people who worked so well together and accomplished so much. I loved my job at SMG when I was first hired! The leadership was amazing and the work culture was so supportive and dynamic. SMG is being run into the ground and at this point it does not look like it will end well for the entire organization. Many who worked there for years suddenly let go because of the mistakes and mismanagement of executive leadership who care little for the damage they are doing. I am one of the more fortunate to have left SMG on my own, but recent layoffs have cost good and talented staff their jobs. Spend 25% of the day working with accounts payable trying to get vendors paid so that services don’t get shut off. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Then when they don’t perform like they think they should, they terminate their contracts. They hire providers at a high guaranteed salary, then they don’t market them or support them in their success. They hire great people, use them up like cattle fodder until they have nothing left to give, then they spit them out for someone else that they can pay less. The company’s business model seems to be that of never paying vendors and suppliers, then when services are cut off due to delinquency, they just move on to a new vendor. This is the most unethical company I have ever worked for. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? A person needs to be very self sufficient and resourceful, because there is little to no support from senior administration or the company as a whole. The company tries to grow too quickly, it continually acquires new facilities instead of supporting or investing in their current facilities and people. This quality patient care is only possible, due to the hard work of all of the amazing people and providers that work there. The company is only able to provide good patient care, not because of Steward, but in spite of Steward. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The people, there are some amazing, talented, and passionate providers and people that work there. What is the best part of working at the company?
